Songlines Music Awards 2012
Now in their fourth year, the Songlines Music Awards endeavour to celebrate and acknowledge the myriad of musical talent across the world that has been featured in Songlines magazine. For details of the last three years’ winners, please see the links above.
The four categories are: Best Artist, Best Group, Cross-Cultural Collaboration, and Newcomer - for more details on these, click here.
Eligible artists are those who had albums reviewed in Songlines during 2011 (from issues #74 to #81 inclusive). The public voting ended on January 31, 2012.
The top four in each category from the public vote gives us the nominations, which will be published in Songlines #84 (April/May 2012 - on sale from March 16). The Songlines Music Awards jury will then select the winners which will be announced in Songlines #85 (June 2012 - on sale from April 27).
A compilation album featuring all 16 2012 nominated artists will be available on CD and download from March 19. For details on last year's compilation album, see below.
