Ron Singh, of bhangra rock band Kissmet, and David Le Page, concertmaster of Orchestra of the Swan, a UK chamber orchestra, have joined forces to present a fusion of music and dance, story-telling and spirituality. The concert, taking place at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire on August 9, will combine the energy of bhangra rock with classical strings.

Kissmet have made a name for themselves through performances at Glastonbury and WOMAD, and by sharing stages with Kaiser Chiefs, Duffy and Asian Dub Foundation, among others. Founded by brothers Ron and Buzz Singh, Kissmet’s sound reflects their experience of growing up in multicultural Britain, listening to everything from classical Hindi and Punjabi music to British bands like The Clash and Led Zeppelin.

Midlands-based Orchestra of the Swan are also known for crossing genres and mixing styles, from Bach to Bowie and Rameau to Radiohead. Ron Singh has said that “What’s most important is the incredible vibe and energy that can be generated by people of all faiths, backgrounds, colours, gender and culture coming together to create something powerfully positive, infectious and memorable”.
