Maastricht fusion aces YĪN YĪN herald the arrival of their third frolicsome full-length, Mount Matsu, with the release of single ‘Tokyo Disko’, a typically zesty cocktail of diverse instrumental influences, absorbing Southeast Asian psych, Stax-indebted soul, Dick Dale’s surf guitar, infectious funk and Japanese sōkyoku.  

Accompanying the track is Sara Elzinga’s ultra-kitsch video (available to watch here), featuring members of YĪN YĪN hamming it up on the set of a chaotic gameshow, capering like a troupe of exotically-attired oddballs plucked straight from a Wes Anderson flick, all with their eyes on the big prize.

YĪN YĪN embark on a short UK tour next month, with scheduled stop-offs at The White Hotel, Manchester (15 Feb), Village Underground, London (16 Feb), Strange Brew, Bristol (17 Feb) and Patterns, Brighton (18 Feb).
