Africa’s premier diva, Angélique Kidjo, took home the prize for Best World Music Album with Celia, her wonderful tribute to salsa superstar Celia Cruz (reviewed in #148), while it was a forthcoming Top of the World pick, Indiana-born fiddle-player Michael Cleveland who topped the Best Bluegrass Album category with his high-octane hoedown collection, Tall Fiddler (check out the review in #155). There was also Grammy glory for I’m With Her, aka singer-songwriters Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan and Sara Watkins, who came out victors in the Best American Roots Song category, with their hauntingly hypnotic cut, ‘Call My Name’.
