Hendrix ragas in new stage show by novelist Amit Chaudhuri

Music and literature meet in a new 90-minute stage show – A Moment of Mishearing – by novelist, professor of contemporary literature and classically trained Hindustani singer Amit Chaudhuri.

The show explores Chaudhuri’s own musical education and the ways in which his ears were opened to the connections between eastern and western musical traditions.

“I could hear certain Indian ragas in what Hendrix was playing,” Chaudhuri recalls, and his show is an intimate examination of the threads that link Tagore to Magritte to Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Prepare to be transported as the show tours England from February 27 to March 17.
