Tomorrow TEDx comes to London; an all-day event featuring speakers from across the worlds of music, academia and those simply with inspirational and thought-provoking tales to tell. Formed with the intention to disseminate ”ideas worth spreading” in the 1980s, TEDx conferences have spread these ‘ideas’ to all corners of the globe.
The event at Sadler’s Wells Theatre carries the theme: ‘Where Inspiration meets Action.’ Part of the wide-ranging array of speakers, Malian duo Amadou & Marriam are sure to be one of the highlights of the day. Being introduced by Radio 6 presenter and regular Songlines columnist Cerys Matthews, the duo who fell in love through their commitment to Mali’s Institute for the Blind have gone on to achieve international success and have accompanied many of the world’s leading artists. The pair will lead a talk on ‘Learning to see with Music.’
Other notable attendees include Hugh Masekela, Lianne Le Havas and Rosemary Nalden.
