How long have you been working at Songlines?
About 48 hours.
What is your middle name?
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I would like to run a pedal swan empire on the Thames.
What is your all-time favourite album?
A mixtape my friend made when I had two broken feet and couldn’t walk for months. The tracklist included ‘Footloose’ and ‘Happy Feet’. The cover bore the Groucho Marx quote ‘Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticise them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.’
What are you listening to at this very second?
The blood rushing through my head as I fall into a sugar coma.
First musical memory?
My brother playing Jive Bunny. I still hear the voices. And take the medication.
What is your claim to fame?
I represented Glasgow University on University Challenge. And once hung out for the night with TV’s popular Sylvester McCoy. Rock. And. Roll.
What’s your hidden talent?
An almost indefatigable appetite. Not sure if that’s a talent but I don’t think drawing rubbish otters counts.
What drink best describes you?
Guinness. Dark, stout and likely to keep you waiting a while.
If you were a festival which one would you be?
One on a boat. Is there one on a boat? There should a festival on a boat.
