Songlines Encounters Festival is on the horizon and our Friday evening line-up features two distinctive folk bands that draw on traditional sources but rework them in a refreshing and innovative way

From the UK, Spiro create a sound world in which English folk meets Philip Glass-style systems music. Read more about them in our current issue (#84, June 2012).

Le Vent du Nord is a breath of fresh air in French-Canadian music from Québec, playing in London for the first time. The group received rave reviews from Celtic Connections in January.

In the Friday folk slot in Hall Two we present Sam Lee & Friends – one of the rising stars of the British folk scene with some special guests to add an international flavour.

You can book your tickets by visiting the Kings Place website or by calling +44 (0)20 7520 1490.
