Sunday 8 July will be a day of festivities celebrating the cultural riches of Africa at Buttermarket in Shrewsbury. The venue will host to a range of activities, workshops, films and performances culminating in a finalé concert given by Diabel Cissokho.
From music to food, via dance, art and face-painting, there will be something for everyone. The festival, presented by Jazz and Roots, aims to raise funds and awareness for the humanitarian aid needed across famine-hit West Africa.
Tickets start at £5 and money raised will go towards Oxfam, The Red Cross and Unicef, the three aid agencies still delivering food and medicines to the region.
