Scots Trad Music Awards 2012

The biggest celebration in traditional Scottish music, the Scots Trad Music Awards, takes place at the Ben Nevis Centre in Fort William on Saturday December 8 with Julie Fowlis, Mary Ann Kennedy and Tony Kearney hosting the ceremony which is broadcast live on BBC Alba. This will be the tenth edition of the awards which includes 19 categories in total, ranging from Best Album of the Year to Gaelic Singer and Pipe Band of the Year.

Our more eagle-eyed readers who have already delved into the new issue (#89, Jan/Feb 2013), might have spotted a clanger in the News pages where we ‘announce’ the winners. Fear not, we haven’t inadvertently broken the embargo by letting on who’s won this year, but rather more embarrassingly, we’ve listed the winners from 2008…

We look forward to publishing the actual winners online next week and in the following issue (March 2013, #90) on sale February 1.
