More acts added to Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards

Now in its eighth year, Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards has announced further additions to its line up. The event at London’s KOKO on January 19 will see a combination of emerging artists and established musicians coming together for an evening of live performances, collaborations and DJ sets.
BBC 6Music presenter and record label owner Peterson has been heralded for his support of new artists, and shares his eclectic musical interests on his weekly Saturday show. Gilles provided his playlist for Songlines in issue #66 (March 2010).
The 6Music presenter’s annual awards promises performances from Nick Mulvey, formerly of the Mercury Prize nominees Portico Quartet; Brazilian singer-songwriter Marcos Valle, Neneh Cherry with Rocketnumbernine and Mala in Cuba, signed by Peterson’s own Brownswood label and collaborator on the on-going Havana Cultura project.
