Got your dancing shoes on? You’re gonna need them.

On Saturday March 2, the New Empowering Church, Hackney, will be hosting The Afro-Palace Live Sessions.

London-based Konkoma, signed to Soundway records, will be performing tracks off their self-titled debut album. Named after a Northern tribe in Ghana, they bring traditional sounds of 70s Ghana into the present day amidst a blend of Afro-funk, jazz and soul.

Orquesta Estelar are a versatile 30-piece Afro-Latin big band. With a 15-piece horn section and mesmerising vocal performances, expect big Cuban rhythms topped with a sizzling array of flutes, strings, guitars and horns.

London-born Jack Yglesias and his Venezuelan wife, Luzmira Zerpa are duo called Family Atlantica. Introducing Zerpa to audiences at the 2008 Fi-Sahara Festival, Manu Chao welcomed her as “the most beautiful voice to arrive in the desert”.
