WOMAD 2013 at the Songlines stand

Yet another wonderful weekend in Malmesbury

Songlines rounded off its busy festival run at WOMAD Charlton Park, our fifteenth year at the event. Once again we were treated to a fine mixture of good weather and even better music.

Highlights for the team include Mokoomba‘s spirited performance on the Sunday evening (coordinated dancing included); percussion master Mohammad Reza Mortazavi on the Charlie Gillett stage (video below) and Malawi Mouse Boys kicking off Saturday to a packed, joyous audience.

We also had the pleasure of hosting two of our favourite current acts at the main Songlines stand. Family Atlantica and David Wax Museum, both recent Top of the World selections, treated us to an acoustic performance each. Keep an eye out for a video of David Wax Museum.

Read Editor-in-Chief Simon Broughton’s review of WOMAD at the Evening Standard, and look out for our full coverage of the event in the next issue (Oct, #95) available on August 30.
