Sam Carter & Catherine MacLellan announce a short UK tour in October, where they will premiere their new work

Sam Carter, who won the Horizon award in the 2010 BBC Folk Awards, travelled to CatherineMacLellan’s hometown on Prince Edward Island (PEI) in September 2012 for a week long residency as part of the English Folk Dance and Song Society’s (EFDSS) Artist Development Programme, in partnership with Music PEI.

Catherine was voted as the Critics’ Favourite New Discovery by Penguin Eggs Magazine in 2008, and has since been a four-time winner at the Music PEI awards. She has supported artists including Bruce Cockburn and Steve Forbert, and showcased her music all over the world.

The singer-songwriters created new material, which was presented to delegates at the Showcase PEI International Conference before a short tour of Atlantic Canada. They reunite to continue their creative collaboration in October for a UK tour, which is supported by the Canada House Arts Trust.
