September 21 is International Peace Day, the 31st to be observed since its conception
The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon dedicated this year’s International Day of Peace to education as a means to reduce prospects of war sustainably for the future.
Jeremy Gilley is responsible for getting the UN’s recognition of a day dedicated to peace, and has been campaigning for world peace since he founded Peace One Day in 1999. More information can be found here.
