In an effort to preserve and restore classic world cinema films before they are lost, Scorsese’s World Cinema Foundation has released it’s first volume of three films – Trances (see clip below), Dry Summer and Revenge.

This excellent documentary tells the story of Muscles Shoals, Alabama, the R&B capital of the American South.

The Umbrellas of Cherbourg
Fifty years on and this classic musical of French cinema history has been restored and released.
