Och aye! With Glasgow’s Commonwealth Games fast approaching and the Scottish independence referendum lingering on the horizon, there has been no better time to celebrate traditional Scottish art and culture.
Tradfest is Edinburgh’s only multi-arts festival dedicated to Scottish culture and traditional Gaelic folk arts. Taking place between April 29 and May 11, the festival aims to celebrate all things Scottish with a variety of music, theatre and film events taking place across 26 venues.
With Scottish trad ensemble Breabach (pictured above), folk singer Rachel Newton, and Welsh/Senegalese duo Catrin Finch & Seckou Keita all expected to perform this year, the festival looks set to showcase an exciting array of musical acts from both Scotland and abroad.
The festival will also feature talks and debates spanning Scottish cuisine to political self-determination, walking tours, visual arts and craft fairs. So why not grab your tartan and head to Edinburgh this spring to celebrate traditional Scottish culture.
