Trace the evolution of samba from ritualistic love dance to Rio street carnival at Brasil Brasileiro, a celebration of Brazil’s national rhythm at Sadler’s Wells this July

In what The Guardian describes as ‘a genuinely infectious show,’ the 38-strong company of musicians and dancers are directed by Claudio Segovia, veteran of more than 50 productions worldwide, including the multi-award-winning Tango Argentino and Black and Blue. Expect everything from the syncopated rush of North-East Brazilian forró to acrobatic capoeira – an iconic fusion of martial arts and dance styles first invented over 450 years ago by African slaves in Brazil.

Performances commence daily at 7.30pm, with Saturday & Sunday matinees at 2.30pm
