Kalakuta Millionaires, She’Koyokh and Jaipur Kawa Brass Band are among the acts performing as part of Music for Change’s Global Sounds on August 25
Founded in 1997, Music for Change specialise in educational projects and celebratory events. Taking place in Canterbury’s Dane John Gardens, on August 25 (Bank Holiday Monday) Music for Change will present Global Sounds – a free family-friendly celebration of music from around the world.
Following a hectic summer schedule with headline performances at Glastonbury Festival, Latitude Festival and Secret Garden Party, Afro Orchestra collective Kalakuta Millionaires (pictured) will bring their blend of jazz, funk and soul to the Global Sounds stage.
Also making an appearance are Indian horn heavy Jaipur Kawa Brass Band, London-based She’Koyokh, West African percussionist Musa M’Boob & XamXam and Whitstable embedded Samba Pelo Mar. A variety of dance and music workshops will be taking place across the day.
