Field Day festival marks its tenth anniversary this June at London’s Victoria Park
One of the first musical events to look out for as the British festival season slowly approaches, Field Day has built a reputation for showcasing a host of great acts from home and around the world, most of whom rarely get the chance to play in the UK. On the year of its tenth anniversary, the festival will be held in London’s Victoria Park with its strongest lineup yet.
Saturday sees Senegalese Afro-Cuban group Orchestre Baobab, one of the dominant and iconic African bands of the 70s, Scottish folk trio Yorkston Thorne Khan, Ghanaian highlife artist Ata Kak whose work was brought to the public eye by Awesome Tapes from Africa, and Thai fusion group and former Top of the World selection Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band. Critically acclaimed Congolese band Mbongwana Star will be playing the following day. James Blake was recently announced as the headline act.
