Debashish Bhattacharya to perform at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room on October 2
Pioneering Indian slide guitarist Debashish Bhattacharya’s interest in music began from a very early age, picking up his first guitar at the age of three and performing for the first time on Indian radio just a year later. In the present day he is known as one of the country’s greatest musicians.
His innovative compositions and distinctive guitar style have earned him global recognition, with his 2009 album Calcutta Chronicles gaining a Grammy Award nomination. He has also just won the Asia & South Pacific category in this year’s Songlines Music Awards.
On October 2, the Royal Albert Hall’s intimate Elgar Room will stage a very special performance from Debashish, presented in association with Songlines.
