75th edition of Songlines (April/May 2011) is on sale in the UK from March 18

The 75th edition of Songlines (April/May 2011) is on sale in the UK from March 18 and includes our regular Top of the World CD with ten tracks from the finest new releases from around the planet, plus five tracks selected by Welsh singer-songwriter and presenter Cerys Matthews. The issue also comes with a bonus 2nd CD of music produced in France featuring the Gotan Project, Cesaria Evora, Moussou T and Susheela Raman.

The Top of the World CD includes tracks from the queen of Bollywood Asha Bhosle and sitarist Shujaat Khan; Kronos Quartet in collaboration with top accordionist Kimmo Pohjonen and Samuli Kosminen; edgy Berber sounds from Iness Mezel’s new Justin Adams-produced album; Palestinian oud duo Le Trio Joubran; Francophone Cajun music from Louisiana’s Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys; and the great voice of Aboriginal Australian Frank Yamma, among others.
