Eugene Hütz’s playlist and the 10 best new releases in the new Songlines issue

The June 2013 issue of Songlines is now on sale. It includes our regular Top of the World CD with ten tracks from the finest new releases from around the planet. The CD also includes five tracks selected by Gogol Bordello frontman, Eugene Hütz.

The new June Songlines podcast is now available through iTunes

This podcast includes highlights from the June 2013 issue of Songlines (#92) opening with music by Manu Chao from Baionarena (Because). Songlines editor-in-chief, Simon Broughton, plays a track by Mariachi el Bronx, a bonus track chosen by Gogol Bordello’s frontman Eugene Hütz as part of his playlist this issue. 

Features include: Peter Culshaw talks about his new biography on Manu Chao; Nasim Masoud announces the winners of the Songlines Music Awards 2013; and Nigel Williamson reports on the Nigerian singer Funmi Olawumi. Nathaniel Handy brings you the latest news with an excerpt from Zucchero (Wrasse) and more. The podcast ends with a track by Abida Parveen (Navras).

The next Songlines podcast, featuring highlights from the July issue (#93), will be available from June 7 2013.
