The new Jan/Feb Songlines podcast is now available through iTunes

This podcast includes highlights from the January/February 2012 issue of Songlines (#81) opening with music by Calle 13 (Sony). Songlines editor in chief, Simon Broughton, plays an excerpt by Mercedes Sosa, a bonus track chosen by Jonathan Dimbleby as part of his playlist this issue. There is also music by Karl Seglem (NORCCD/Ozella) from the bonus second CD this issue – Folke Larm: Traditional Music from Norway.

Features include: Sue Steward on Latin Music, Andy Morgan on Baloji and the Best Albums of 2011 with Simon Broughton and Jo Frost. Nathaniel Handy brings you the latest news with the Official UK World Music Album Chart as well as a repeat of our award-winning podcast report from Carriacou. The podcast ends with music from the forthcoming album by Annbjorg Lien Band Khoom Loy (Grappa Records).

The next Songlines Podcast, featuring highlights from the March issue (#82), will be available from February 3 2012.

Propermusic.com A new podcast that features a group of panellists including top music journalists, producers, editors, and promoters who will discuss topical subjects

Barbican This podcast features interviews and music from the hottest Barbican concerts and often highlights world music artists

Afropop Worldwide A podcast that reports on music from Africa to the Americas

Mark Coles’ ‘The Shed: A Whole New World of Music’ While not a podcast per se, this weekly streaming programme offers some of the latest world music tracks

The new October Songlines podcast is now available through iTunes

Songlines editor-in-chief, Simon Broughton, plays a bonus track from Ravi Shankar’s playlist – Norah Jones and Herbie Hancock’s ‘Court & Spark from River: The Joni Letters (Verve)’.

The July 2011 Songlines podcast is now available through iTunes

This podcast includes highlights from the July 2011 issue of Songlines (#77) opening with music by Songlines Music Awards newcomer winner Raghu Dixit, our cover artist this issue. Songlines editor in chief, Simon Broughton, plays an excerpt by the Lijadu Sisters, a bonus track chosen by Kevin Macdonald as part of his playlist this issue. There is also music from the bonus second CD with this issue – Brazilian Sampler from Bahia.

Features include: Robin Denselow and his interview with Raghu Dixit, Simon Broughton on Hungarian group Söndörgö, who will be performing at the Songlines Encounters Festival and Roger Hahn with music by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
