Earth Day Song Project Launched

By Alexandra Petropoulos

Music Declares Emergency partners with Planet Resolution for global Earth Day song project

Earth Day

This Earth Day, Music Declares Emergency has launched an innovative new project called Resolution Song, which finds the environmental pressure group working in tandem with Planet Resolution to release a special collaborative track featuring musicians from across the globe.

It’s an ambitious project, featuring voices spanning regions from Mongolia to a refugee camp in Sierra Leone, all joining together to call for peace, unity, harmony and international action on the climate emergency. The video is the result of a two-year project by director Abbey Wright, who collated hundreds of contributions from artists, at least one from every country on the planet, singing ‘Resolution Song’, which was composed by a Decca writing team. The project is being supported by some big name ambassadors, including Jodie Whittaker, Naomie Harris, Emma Thompson and Bill Bailey.

The compilation version of the song can be viewed here, while you can also sate yourself with full versions of each individual contribution. Be sure to check out the video (below) for one of our favourite renditions, courtesy of the Star Feminine Band.

The project is also inviting submissions from the public. So, get involved. Upload and share your own version of the song (music available here) using the hashtag #NOMUSICONADEADPLANET.
