David Wax and Suz Slezak are the husband-and-wife duo fronting the Mexo-Americana troupe David Wax Museum. Recorded in the couple’s home studio during the pandemic, Euphoric Ouroboric is the band’s eighth full-length album. Seasoned collaborator Alec Spiegelman (woodwinds, programmed drums, piano, electric bass, synthesizer) produced and mixed the ten-track disc, which features Jordan Wax (accordion), Emily Hope Price (cello), Danilo Henriquez (drum kit, percussion, trumpet), Anthony da Costa (electric and acoustic guitar), Philip Mayer (drum kit) and John Hadfield (percussion). Euphoric Ouroboric is a pleasantly mellow, upbeat trip dotted with sparkling romantic expression (‘Ghost of Summer’, ‘Every Bit of Love’), downtempo atmospherics (‘Keep Your Light Steady’, ‘Love Comes Around’, ‘Lookalike’) and dreamy meditations (‘There it Was and There it Goes’).

Think easy listening for the alt-folk crowd. Recently, David Wax Museum made entertainment headlines when they performed at the wedding of former US Democratic presidential candidate (now transportation secretary) Pete Buttigieg and his husband Chasten. Earlier in 2021, the band’s song, ‘Big Sur’, debuted on the Netflix show, Firefly Lane.
