Following in the footsteps of Huun-Huur-Tu and Yat-Kha, Khöömei Beat are a young quintet taking Tyvan music to the world – in particular its distinctive style of throat singing known as khöömei. On Changys Baglaash, the vocals are accompanied by traditional instruments such as the igil (long-neck fiddle) plus bass, cello and drums, giving the sound an accessible and engaging folk-rock feel.
