Announcing the auspicious creative alliance between Belgian-Ghanaian multi-instrumentalist ESINAM and Sibusile Xaba, the charismatic guitar ace from Kwazulu Natal-South Africa, comes ‘Africa Wola’, an upbeat regional anthem flush with pride and paradisiacal aspirations.

With mantra-like vocal chants – the African slang word ‘Wola’ (a common phrase of greeting, meaning “what’s up”) becoming a surreptitious incantatory summons, urging unity and action on behalf of the continent and its future generations – deep percussive grooves and Sibusile’s bubbling axe licks, the song’s vibrant melodies serve as a wake-up call for those living in the motherland and the diaspora, encouraging Africans everywhere to celebrate the majestic mysteries of their ancestry, homeland and culture.

ESINAM & Sibusile Xabha’s ‘Africa Wola’ is out now, while their debut album is scheduled for release via W.E.R.F. Records in Spring 2025
