WOMAD 2022: Final Names Announced
Gilberto Gil, Lianne La Havas, Osibisa, Comorian, Alostmen and more join line-up for global party's 40th birthday edition
Gilberto Gil joins the bill for WOMAD 2022
The final tranche of names have now been announced for WOMAD 2022.
Among the new slew of artists scheduled to appear at Wiltshire's Charlton Park between July 28-31 are iconic Brazilian musician Gilberto Gil, British singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas, Alostmen (winners of the Best Newcomer category at 2021's Songlines Music Awards), eclectic Indian Ocean outfit Comorian, Kanda Bongo Man, Osibisa, Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwals, Jasdeep Singh Degun, Trash Kit and Abel Selaocoe.
These names bolster an already impressive programme, featuring legendary Beninese vocalist Angélique Kidjo and esteemed Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara, as well as award-winning wordsmith Kae Tempest and avant-rock psychonauts The Flaming Lips.
