Fania Records: The Latin Sound of New York (1964–1978)

Continuing its celebration of Fania’s 60th birthday, the Craft Latino label has compiled an indisputable 2-LP ‘Best Of’. The gang’s all here – from Joe Bataan and Eddie Palmieri to Celia Cruz and Ray Barretto – along with hits like Héctor Lavoe’s ‘Mi Gente’, so only a rather predictable selection precludes a fifth star.
