Renowned for singing traditional songs in Scottish Gaelic, Julie Fowlis has surprised her many fans with her latest album alterum, as it is the first to include songs sung in the English language. Her stunningly pure vocals remain unchanged however, as does her dedication to her native Gaelic tradition. Fowlis boasts an impressive career that spans ten years and also includes winning numerous awards (Scots Trad Music Awards and BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards) and recording the title-track to Disney Pixar’s Brave.
